Coach Marlon Odom is the founder and CEO of Hurdle Science, a technical program focused on the biomechanics of hurdling, sprinting, and strength training. He is a four-time Collegiate All-American at Texas Tech, a three-time West Regional Champion, a Big 12 indoor hurdles champion, and a three-time Big 12 outdoor 110-meter hurdles champion. He previously led German National sprints and hurdles in Stuttgart, Germany.
Coach Richard James is a 2004 Olympian, World Indoor Champion, NCAA All-American, and co-founder of Brooklyn Speed & Power. He holds a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology and has developed four Olympians and more than 25 Northeast Conference championship teams through his work in Division I sports performance.

2:00 - 3:30 PM: Sprint Session: Acceleration, Blocks & College Recruiting
Primary Focus - Explosive starts, push angles, and understanding the college recruiting process.
Dynamic Warm-Up & Activation: Full-body warm-up to prepare muscles and joints for high-speed output
Hip Mobility: Drills to open up hip range of motion for longer, more powerful strides.
Sprint Mechanics Drills: Technical drills focused on foot strike, posture, and arm drive.
Acceleration Training: Resisted vs. unresisted sprint runs to build real explosive power off the line.
Starting Block Setup: How to set your blocks to fit your body and build the right launch angles.
Closing Talk (College Readiness & NCAA Rules): A breakdown of NCAA recruiting updates, initial eligibility rules, academic standards, and an open Q&A for athletes and parents.

Rhythm & Wicket Runs: Wicket spacing drills to teach quick ground contact and race rhythm.

Block Setup & Approach to First Hurdle: Counting steps, building acceleration, and hitting the first hurdle at speed.

Hip Mobility & Flexibility: Exercises to improve hip extension and recovery mechanics.
Sprint Mechanics Drills: High-speed coordination and ground contact drills.
Stride Structure Work: Fine-tuning stride length and stride frequency without over-striding.
Phase Work (30m / 30m / 30m): Breaking the sprint race into clear segments: drive phase, transition phase, and max velocity.

Before You Buy
Team Passes are available to school teams only. One account may combine its paid athlete registrations before the team deadline, seven days before the clinic. The price shown is for the selected number of athletes and cannot be combined with public promotions or discounts.
Groups of 9–15 athletes include one complimentary Coach Shadow Pass; groups of 16 or more include two total complimentary passes, subject to available coach capacity. Each athlete must complete the required registration and consent process before participating. One same-team athlete substitution is permitted before the deadline if all required forms are completed.
