Important Information

Please review these details before attending your first session at Poly Prep.

Poly Prep Entry Instructions
Athletes must enter through the back gate entrance located near the B70/B8 bus stop at 9261 7th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11228.

Upon arrival, provide security with the athlete's name and let them know they are attending a session with Coach Richard James (Brooklyn Speed and Power).
Parent Policy at Poly Prep
Parents are not permitted on campus and must leave once the athlete is checked in with security.

Please plan to drop off your athlete at the back gate and return at the end of the session at 8:00 PM. Athletes will be released at the gate.
What to Bring
Athletic clothing appropriate for the weather and activity.
Water bottle — sessions are high intensity, hydration is essential.
Proper footwear — athletic or running shoes required.

What Happens at a Session

Every Brooklyn Speed and Power session follows a proven structure designed to maximize development and minimize injury risk.

Dynamic Warm-Up
Every session opens with a structured warm-up to activate muscles, improve mobility, and prepare athletes for intense work.

Speed and Agility Drills
Athletes work through acceleration, deceleration, change of direction, and top-speed mechanics specific to their sport demands.

Strength and Power Work
Age-appropriate strength circuits designed to build explosive power, functional strength, and injury-resistant bodies.

Sport-Specific Training
Drills and movements tailored to each athlete's primary sport, reinforcing skills that transfer directly to game performance.

Cool-Down and Recovery
Sessions close with structured cool-down, stretching, and coach feedback to reinforce learning and support recovery.

Coaching and Feedback
Athletes receive personalized coaching cues and feedback throughout, ensuring technical improvement at every session.

Transit and Parking

Both locations are well-served by public transit across Brooklyn. Street parking is available near both facilities.

B70 and B8 buses stop directly near the back gate entrance at 9261 7th Avenue. The back gate is the required athlete entry point.

Accessible via the N train (Bay Ridge Ave station) with a short walk or bus connection to 7th Avenue.

Wingate Park — Transit
Accessible via the 2/5 trains (Newkirk Ave or Church Ave stations). Multiple bus lines serve the area including the B103 and B35.

Free street parking is generally available near both locations. Check posted signs for alternate-side regulations.
