Built in Brooklyn.
Trained By
an Olympian.

Brooklyn Speed & Power was founded in 2022 by a coalition of Brooklyn parents and 2004 Olympian Coach Richard James on a single belief: every kid in this city deserves training built on real science, delivered by real experts, inside a community that has their back.

We are nonprofit by design — mission-driven, not margin-driven. Your donation helps keep that promise alive for every family in Brooklyn.

No Kid Sits
Out for Cost.

The Athlete Access Fund is Brooklyn Speed & Power's need-based financial assistance program. It exists to ensure that a family's financial situation is never what keeps a young athlete from competing.

The fund supports qualified student-athletes by covering their cost of performance training and competition (when applicable).

How It Works
Access Built Into
the Program

The Athlete Access Fund is not an afterthought — it is an integral part of how Brooklyn Speed & Power operates. Funding is approved on a need basis, reviewed by committee, and renewed based on ongoing eligibility.

Need-based review — applications reviewed confidentially
Funded spots made possible entirely through community donations
Full participation — funded athletes train and compete alongside every other team member
