Executive Director & Co-Founder
Byron
Ward

Byron Ward didn't just want to build a sports organization, he wanted to build a movement. As a results-driven marketing leader and Baylor University graduate, Byron co-founded Brooklyn Speed & Power in 2022 with a singular conviction: that every child in Brooklyn deserves access to the kind of training that produces champions.

The spark was personal. Byron and co-founder Billie Christie saw firsthand how many young athletes in their community were being underserved, talented, driven kids without access to quality coaching or competitive opportunities. When their daughter became one of the program's first athletes, the mission stopped being abstract. It became family.

As Executive Director, Byron leads with equal parts strategic vision and community heart. He oversees financial stewardship, operational growth, and the marketing that keeps Brooklyn Speed & Power's story reaching the families who need it most. His background in building brands and driving growth across diverse industries gives the club a rare edge, the discipline of a business leader paired with the soul of a community builder.

A two-time NYC Marathon finisher, eight-time Spartan Race finisher, and lifelong youth athletics advocate, Byron embodies the discipline and perseverance he works to instill in every Brooklyn Speed and Power athlete every day. For Byron, this isn't just a nonprofit. It's proof that when you invest in young athletes, the whole community wins.

Director of Programming
Bradley
Joseph

Bradley Joseph understands athletes from the inside out, because he's been one. A multi-certified performance specialist holding a BS degree alongside credentials in USAW, USATF, and NASM PES, Bradley brings both the science and the soul to Brooklyn Speed & Power's programming. His competitive background and deep love for the sport shape every session he designs. For Bradley, programming isn't just about workouts; it's about creating experiences that meet young athletes exactly where they are and push them toward who they're becoming.

As Director of Programming, Bradley oversees the structure, curriculum, and day-to-day delivery of the club's athletic development initiatives. He ensures that Coach James's Olympic-level methodology translates into age-appropriate, athlete-first training that keeps kids engaged, progressing, and coming back stronger.

Bradley's philosophy is simple: when the program is right, the athletes thrive. He builds each session as if every child on that track is a future champion, because many of them will be.
